VP of Sales

Harvest Solar is looking for a seasoned sales executive to fill our Vice President of Sales position. This role will be based out of our Jackson, MI office and reporting to the President. This role will be responsible for overall sales strategy, managing the company’s sales team, recruiting talent, meeting with potential clients, executing training programs, forecasting revenue, attending and engaging at industry events, understanding the technical aspect of solar products, and seeking out new opportunities.


• Direct management of the sales team

• Motivate, incent, train, prepare the sales team

• Communicate job expectations; review team/individual performance results • Contribute to strategy and market analysis with goal of identifying priority markets for origination opportunities

• Develop and maintain relationships with procurement desks at corporates, co-ops, municipalities, and utilities

• Strong organization and project management skills

• Utilize channels (e.g., networks, associations, and conferences) to source leads and opportunities

• Regular collaboration and interaction with operations, marketing, engineering, and executive teams

• Identify requests for proposal (RFP) opportunities and participate in responses to RFPs

• Attend industry conferences including speaking engagements

• Develop and manage KPI’s • Plan for company hiring needs within sales to meet company goals

• Staying up to speed and sharp on industry knowledge

• Intimate knowledge of finance concepts including NPV, IRR, LCOI, PPA’s, Equipment Lease, and bank financing

• Routine travel required


• Proven track record of execution at either a large distributed generation or utility-scale solar development company

• Knowledge of power markets including PJM & MISO a plus

• Relationships with customers including corporates, financials, co-ops, municipalities, and utilities

• Deep understanding of contract structures and risk management

• Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team in a positive, collaborative manner

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment • Ability to manage multiple territories and customer segments Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or similar field preferred

• Fluency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive) • with Box, Dropbox, and related software
